Tesla Option Codes Reference
Every Tesla configuration is tagged with internal option codes. Here are 250+ of them, decoded, with model and year availability.
How to use this
When buying a used Tesla, the seller's listing or window sticker may include cryptic 3-5 character
codes (like MTY09, PPSW, W41A). This page decodes them. Search by
code, by description, or filter by category. Each entry shows which models/years it applied to.

Sources & caveats
This reference is compiled from publicly available information including window stickers, Tesla service bulletins, community forums (Tesla Motors Club, Tesla Owners Online), and the TeslaTap option code database. Tesla does not publish an official, complete option code list publicly. Codes can be reused or renamed across model years.
For the specific codes on a particular VIN you're considering, the most authoritative sources are:
- The original window sticker — many sellers have a copy. Tesla can sometimes reprint via service center.
- Tesla's used inventory listing if the car is currently in Tesla's CPO inventory — shows trim and key options.
- The car itself — Service menu shows hardware version, software version, and many configurations.
- Carfax / AutoCheck — has basic vehicle data but rarely the granular option codes.
